Through a series of immersion weekends, this in-person training program will cover a number of modules designed to deepen your understanding of what it means to practice yoga.

Weekend 1: May 30 - June 1
Focus: Hatha Yoga + Back Care
Dive into the foundational principles of Hatha Yoga with a focus on back care. Explore the history and key yogic texts, the anatomy of the spine and skeletal system, and the anatomy of breath. Begin your pranayama practice and learn how body types influence movement. Energetics will center on the first chakra. -
Weekend 2: June 13 - 15
Focus: Vinyasa
Discover the dynamic flow of Vinyasa yoga while studying muscular anatomy and the ethical principles of yoga. Learn about the 9 Drishtis (gaze points), the Bandhas (energy locks), and the yogic lifestyle. Energetics will center on the second chakra. -
Weekend 3: June 27 - 29
Focus: Iyengar + Karma
Explore alignment principles in the Iyengar tradition and the philosophy of Karma Yoga. Gain insight into the systems of the body, what makes a great yoga teacher, and the various styles of yoga and their key teachers. Develop your skills in sequencing and classifying postures. Energetics will center on the third chakra. -
Weekend 4: July 11 - 13
Focus: Kundalini + Ayurveda
Immerse yourself in Kundalini energetics and ancient Ayurvedic practices. Learn effective cueing techniques while deepening your understanding of the heart-centered fourth chakra. -
Weekend 5: July 25 - 27
Focus: Bikram, Ashtanga, Power
Explore the invigorating styles of Bikram, Ashtanga, and Power yoga. Begin your journey into arm balancing and inversions, and learn the fundamentals of hands-on assists. Energetics will focus on the fifth chakra. -
Weekend 6: August 8 - 10
Focus: Yin + Restorative
Delve into the meditative practices of Yin and Restorative yoga, with a focus on the therapeutic use of props. Learn to identify where tension is held in the body and how to release it. This weekend also covers hip-opening techniques, cueing, demonstrating, and finding your authentic teaching voice. Energetics will center on the sixth chakra. -
Weekend 7: August 22 - 24
Focus: Gentle, Therapeutics, Chair, Rope Wall
Learn the principles of gentle, therapeutic, chair yoga, and the use of the rope wall. Gain insights into who can benefit from these practices and how to teach them effectively. This weekend focuses on creating a life-long yoga practice, sequencing, cueing, and refining hands-on assists. Energetics will explore the seventh chakra. -
Weekend 8: September 5 - 7
Focus: Prenatal + Jivamukti
Explore yoga for all stages of life, with a special focus on prenatal yoga and pelvic floor awareness. Dive into spiritual devotion and yogic lifestyle principles inspired by Jivamukti yoga. This weekend also includes a comprehensive review to prepare for graduation. -
Weekend 9: September 19 - 21
Focus: Graduation Weekend
Celebrate your journey as a yoga teacher! This weekend includes teaching demonstrations, test-outs, Q&A sessions, a Future Self walking meditation, and an introduction to the business of yoga. Conclude the training with graduation festivities to honor your accomplishment.
Our training adheres to the Elevated Standards put forth by Yoga Alliance; the largest certifying body in the yoga community.
Upon your successful completion of the program, you will receive your Yoga Alliance RYT 200 certification and be ready to start guiding others on their yoga journey.

I am so excited to deepen my knowledge, experience, and skill set by leading the 200 Yoga Teacher Training at DYC! This is an opportunity that I have been manifesting for a while now, and it’s come at the most perfect time. It is one of the deepest desires of my heart to share my love of yoga with as many people as possible. I hope to create an inspiring, connective, and enlightening experience for this community.
